Having a break and taking it easy in the Geiselsberger Hut

The Almhotel Lenz is set in the heart of the Kronplatz ski resort, a mountain famed for its ultra modern trains and lifts, perfect snow conditions and its descents in all directions. Its snow-capped peak towering high over Bruneck is unmistakeable, while its 360° panoramic view over the 2275m high plateau peaks of the Dolomites and the main Alpine crest is simply breathtaking. And what is a perfect day’s skiing without a stop-off at the Geiselberger hut? This traditional skiing hut is run by the Mutschlechner family and lies on the Kronplatz between the Piste Plateau and Olang 1, directly above the middle station of the Olang cable car.  Stop off for a break and indulge in a taste of our regional specialities. Served in the cosy Stube snuggery or out on the sunny terrace, home-made delicacies such as Kaiserchmarrn pancakes, omelette, venison macaroni, knuckle of pork or fried egg with roast potatoes lie in store. It’s all too easy to get your momentum back for the next descent down the pistes of the Kronplat.

The Geiselsberger hut is a cosy ski hut where locals appreciate the hospitality every bit as much as our many guests from the world over. An intrinsic facet of the Kronplatz ski resort, it has long been one of the top energy-replenishing hut destinations. In addition, every Thursday and Sunday local musicians provide the entertainment for a dance on the terrace.
